I found two tires on craigslist in the size I am looking for and they are willing to take $200 for both. They are $238/piece from tirerack.com so do you think this is a good deal or what?

I say they look ok to get. good price and they start @ 10/32 so @ 7/32 thats not to worn. They go to 2/32 before wear strips so lots left.

I always have to wonder why people are selling some stuff on C/L but thats just the leary me thinking.

Well I found a matching set on eBay with the same amount of tread left for $175 w/ free shipping if I could get all 4 for $300 I think it would be worth it.

I need tires before May inspection and I don't want to drop a grand on new tires right now.

Go for it.

Me being a resident tire guru(yes that is funny). If it will save you money now till you can get what you want later I'd go for it too.

And just an FYI wholesale from tirerack on those same tires is $212 each.

Yo Mammy

Seems decent enough. 18" tires aren't cheap. Which is one of the main reasons I haven't bought a set for my '03 yet

my only issue with buying used tires from a place other than who you plan to have mount and balance them is the possibility of a broken belt or a bulge in the side wall... You know, the things you CAN'T see when they aren't inflated. If it's a chance you're willing to take, it could either save you lots of money, or cost you lots of money. Good luck!

I got them mounted last week, and my buddy ran them through a "road course test" on the balance machine and they were really true plus I got them filled with nitrogen.

So all in all it worked out really well for me.
