alright this is something im really thinking about doing and i want your opinions. after i finish lowering it putting on my rims and the envoy bumper if i add the newer style SS badges will that be gay i love the way they look but idk it seems so wrong. i love SSs thats why i want to my dad has owned a 01 ss camaro, 63 ss nova the tbss and the chevelle ss i guess he owns it its in his name still lol.

ok, i do like that look i had the xenon on my truck for a while and kinda liked it, but since slp doesnt make a extreme lookin kit for long beds it had to go. i like that truck though.

ryan, i have no prob w/ that man i had ss badges off a 08 monte carlo on my truck for a while they look bad ass. i just took mine off to totally clean my truck. i like the badges. the ones i took off i set em on my dash and put one on my mailbox lol.
id do it bo i like em.

I say if its not an ss dont put ss badges on it i think the newer emblems make it look cheap, if you are gonna do it i wouldnt use the newer badges, i never really did like those, but thats just me, im the ss freak around here so its understandable that i would hate putting ss badges on a non ss!lol

i have all 4. im also a ss freak if the car can be a ss i would get it other than a few years ago they were slapping them onn evrything.

heres rick's ss(SleeperSS here, rhotpursuit on s10f) with the blazer grille with composite headlights, i was gonna do this with clear corners

yea, since we are on the topic of front ends... The ranger bumper idea is dead. After marking off all the brackets and areas needed for bracing and cost of all of it I dont really see its worth. I am still doing a noma hood tho. But for an overall total of $350 in parts for a part from a ford... meh... plus the aggervation that I will go through fabbin the stuff up. That 350 is going towards 2 Viar 480's. to fill my 12 gal tank.

So I hooked up my Alpine type R 15 today in a ported box w/ a briged soundstorm 500 x 2 amp. Everything sounds nice if I don't turn it up more than half way. For some reason when the sub hits certain tones, it switches to protected mode and shuts off. has anyone else ever had this problem with a system install?

it might be hitting protection because the subwoofer is trying to pull to much juice. try turning down the amp some. what gauge is your wireing? that could be a factor to!

Thanks for the input, the power wire is 4 and the speaker wiring is 14. I did manage to find out what the problem was. I guess there is more than one way to hook up a dual voice coil sub. My amp can run at either 4 ohms or 8 ohms, and the sub is 2ohm x 2 ohm. The wiring configuration I had was putting the sub to 1 ohm and this is where the problem is. I switched the wiring to get 4 ohms at the sub and presto, no more problem.

glad u figured out the wiring issue spike, i just cleared my cluster needles, it looks swet, cant wait till i get the cluster tinted!
