One mark of improvement is when a car company’s models impress such publications as Consumer Reports. Well, it turns out that the March issue of Consumer Reports ranks the 2008 Cadillac CTS better than the BMW 328i and the Mercedes-Benz C300. The CTS received an “excellent” rating while its rivals received a “very good.”

That’s not to say that GM doesn’t have work to do. In the same report, the Infiniti G35 and Acura TL beat out the CTS to lead the sport sedan category.

GM also received kudos from Consumer Reports for its Chevrolet Malibu which was ranked among the best in its class just behind the Nissan Altima, the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry.

More details can be found in the Detroit Free Press.
