GM Oil Life System Reset
Press the reset stem until OIL LIFE appears (flashing) on the display. The GM Oil Life System shows an estimate of the oil remaining useful life. It will show 100% when the system is reset after an oil change. It will alert you to change your oil on a schedule consistent with your driving conditions.

Not all are reset that way, like trailblazers for example. To reset those you have to have the key in the on position (not running), press the gas pedal 3 times then press the break pedal 3 times, then start the engine.

some newer vehicles use the steering wheel controls or vehicle information menu buttons on the dash to reset them.

the cars,like impalas a montes you have to reset it through the radio.

turn the radio off,hold the Tune button until a menu appears,use the scan buttons to scroll through the menu. once you find Oil Life(should be first) press Tune again,it should say Reset. press tune once again and it will say Done. then just exit the menu or turn the key off.
