coolant drain plug location on the block of a 4.3 vortec v6 on a 97 chevy 1500

I'm pretty sure there's more than one. There's at least one on each side of the block, I'm not certain if those 4.3's had them on the front as well though

I'm not sure on the 97 1500s, but on the 2000 and up S10s it was on the passenger side of the radiator on the side closest to the engine.

Sorry but no pictures as I do not own a truck with a 4.3, but if I recall right. There should be a hex headed plug just in front of the oil filter. If I remember right it was 1/2" or 9/16". The other one is around the starter.

If you remove these to drain your block, be sure to use some thread sealant on them before reinstalling them.

I will try to get my buddy who has a 4.3 to take a picture for me. Can't promise that it will happen though.
