I have a question...what's the purpose of the walls in the cell, and why are there 5 holes going to the outside?

The baffles "walls" prevent the fuel from splashing around and giving incorrect fuel gauge readings. The holes allow the fuel to go though the baffles and stay level in the cell.

Tim pretty much summed it up. The five flared holes clustered together lead to the sump on the bottom of the cell.

Oh okay, so those holes are on the bottom of the tank. How much would you charge to make me one of those? My fuel tank is leaking, and I don't want to buy a new one.

My rate is $40/hr and it took about 7 hours to do the tank. Plus ~$50 in material. =$330 (not including sending unit or the filler) Honestly I tell most people they are probably better off buying a pre built tank unless you need a specific size/shape that is not offered.

Well, I'm looking for one that I can stick in the back of my truck, run all the way from side to side, bolt to my bed, and wire it into my fuel pump. Besides that way, when I fill up, then it will cost me $400
