Default How To: Installing Clear Corners on a 1st gen

Hello all,

Did the conversion about a year ago now and i thought i would post some pictures of my process. I bought the lights off ebay for $9.99 and $8 shipping. Prices may have changed over time. The Box contained
- 2 Clear light housings
- 2 Amber bulbs

Heres a quick compairson between the two.

Task #1
Remove the 3 screws holding the lights onto the bumper, I forget what size socket i used but all 3 were easily accessable.

Heres a picture of the top two bolt holes. Very easy. The other is on the under side.

Once you have them out.

Task #2
After i had both lights out i transfered the metal tabs off the old lights onto the new clear lights.

Task #3

I then checked for leaks, i took the hose and sprayed it into the housing checking for any seeping. I discovered about 3 leaks in each housing . I took some clear silicone and smeared it on the outside of the housing and let it dry. Seemed to do the trick. The Sealed section is covered by the bumper anyways.

Task #4

After i took out the orig housings i un twisted the bulb housings from the old amber housing. Pop out the old Clear bulbs. DO this by twisting them out of the sockets. Then i recomend putting in some Light bulb grease on the housings before re installing them. Then pop in the new bumbs

Note: You do not need the Amber bulbs but i recomend them to stay legal

Task #5

Re install the Housings intothe bumper.

Finished Product!

Enjoy!
